I have been studying the systematics, taphonomy, palaeoecology and functional morphology of the Palaeozoic crinoids of northern Europe since 1980. Current research is concentrating on the Upper Palaeozoic of the British Isles, particularly the Devonian crinoids of the type area, and new species of Mississippian crinoids. Internal collaboration has been with Dr. Ton de Winter. External collaborations have been with colleagues on both sides of the Atlantic Ocean.
