SakasiriCanna indica
Rolander (1755) describes how hunters used the seeds from this plant when their bullets ran out. Escaped enslaved people also cultivated fields of Canna in order to produce ammunition. They dipped the seeds in poisonous plant extracts and used them against their pursuers.
